Who this covers

Two kinds of people show up in Vowd: couples, who sign up and run a wedding site, and guests, who visit that site to RSVP, browse photos, or upload a snapshot. Couples decide what their site collects. We store and process it to provide the Service.

What we collect from couples

  • Your email address and a hashed password, so you can sign in.
  • Your wedding details: names, date, venue, schedule, copy, and photos.
  • Billing status for your wedding, and identifiers from our payment processor. Card numbers never reach our servers.
  • Ordinary server logs (request paths, timestamps, and IP addresses) kept for security and debugging.

What we collect about guests

  • Whatever the couple put on their guest list: name, and optionally email address and phone number.
  • RSVP responses: attendance, meal choice, song requests, and notes such as dietary requirements.
  • Save the date signups, when a guest volunteers their contact details.
  • Photos uploaded through the guest camera, and votes or comments a guest leaves on a party board share link.

Guests never create an account or a password. A guest who wants their details removed should ask the couple, who can delete them from admin. They can also contact us.

How we use it

To run the wedding site and nothing more: rendering pages, matching an invitation code to a household, sending the reminder emails a couple has scheduled, sending account emails about trials and billing, and keeping the Service secure. We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising, and we do not build profiles of guests for marketing.

Who else sees it

  • Our payment processor, for couples who buy a Wedding Pass. They handle cards and receipts.
  • Our email provider, to deliver invitations, reminders, and account emails.
  • Our hosting and file storage providers, which hold the database and the photos.
  • Our AI provider, when you use optional features such as generating an envelope video or importing a guest list. Those requests include the names and colours you entered, or the list you pasted or uploaded.
  • Anyone with the site link. A wedding site is public by design. Photo galleries and party boards are only as private as the links you share.

We use these providers only to operate the Service. We do not sell personal data to them. If the law requires us to disclose information, we will do so, and we will notify you when we are allowed to.

Cookies

We use a session cookie so couples stay signed in, plus a cookie that protects forms against cross-site request forgery. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Wedding data stays as long as the wedding site exists. Most couples want the site and photos long after the day. Delete your wedding from admin, or ask us to, and its guests, RSVPs, and photos are removed. Server logs roll off on a short schedule.

Your choices

  • Export your guest list and RSVP responses to CSV from admin at any time.
  • Edit or delete any guest, photo, or party board yourself.
  • Turn reminder emails off in your notification settings.
  • Ask us to delete your account and wedding.

Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, or a complaint to a regulator). Email us to use them. We will not discriminate against you for asking.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect accounts and stored data, including hashed passwords and access limited to your wedding. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password private.

Children

The Service is for adults planning a wedding. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. If a change is material, we will email the address on your account. The "Last updated" date at the top will change.
